Wolf Mountain Apps has published an Android application that provides selectable Google Maps markers for museums in Stockholm, Sweden. Each marker on the map denotes the location of a museum — selecting a marker displays more details about that museum such as a hyperlinked website address, selectable phone number, and address. All this information can be sent to friends through an integrated share feature. Additionally, there is an integrated “find” function which allows for quick zoom and selection of a particular museum. The user’s current location is provided as an overlay on the map, and it is also possible to use satellite view to help better visualize a particular location. The application also features the ability to launch the Google Maps application for turn-by-turn directions, Street View, user reviews, etc.
The city of Stockholm is home to numerous world-class museums, most of which I visited while living in Stockholm in the late 90s or during subsequent vacations in the area. Stockholm is a beautiful and lively city, and I hope you have a great time during your visits to any or all of these museums!
The Stockholm Museums application is free and can be found in the Android Market on most Android devices.
